BTCC Names Dan Liu as New CEO, Signals Ambitious Growth and Innovation Ahead

BTCC, one of the longest-standing cryptocurrency exchanges worldwide, has appointed Dan Liu as its new Chief Executive Officer. Liu, previously the exchange’s Chief Research Officer, brings a robust blend of traditional finance expertise and deep cryptocurrency market knowledge to his new leadership role.

As BTCC nears its 14th anniversary this June, Liu’s elevation to CEO marks a pivotal moment for the exchange. He aims to build on BTCC’s storied legacy while driving sustainable growth and industry innovation—positioning the platform not just as a secure trading venue but as a catalyst for meaningful evolution in the crypto sector.

From Research Lead to Executive Head

Joining BTCC in 2019, Liu has been a driving force behind the exchange’s rapid expansion and product innovation. Under his strategic guidance, BTCC broadened its global reach to serve users in over 160 countries and enhanced offerings in both futures and spot trading markets, all while maintaining rigorous security standards.

Liu’s visionary approach to market dynamics has earned him recognition as a leading voice in the crypto community, with frequent features in top industry outlets like Cointelegraph, Markets Insider, and Monthly Digital Assets.

“I am deeply honored to lead BTCC at such a critical time for both our platform and the broader cryptocurrency ecosystem,” Liu said. “Since starting my crypto journey in 2013, my passion for blockchain has only grown. As we celebrate our 14th anniversary, I look forward to merging my background in traditional finance with innovative blockchain solutions. Our commitment remains clear: build trust, foster community, and accelerate BTCC’s global footprint.”

Driving Innovation and Expanding Access

Liu’s tenure as Chief Research Officer saw several landmark initiatives, including the launch of Tokenized Futures—a pioneering product bridging traditional finance and blockchain—and the introduction of BTCC’s popular Copy Trading feature, which simplifies market access for new users.

With an academic grounding in conventional markets, Liu brings analytical rigor to crypto trading. His leadership embraces transparency, trust, and technological advancement as pillars for BTCC’s future.

Looking forward, Liu emphasizes global growth amid evolving regulatory landscapes. “Educating the public about cryptocurrency and making trading accessible to everyday users is one of my core missions,” he said. Plans include strengthening community ties through industry events and direct user engagement to tailor BTCC’s strategy to regional needs.

Under Dan Liu’s leadership, BTCC is set to reinforce its position as a secure, innovative, and trusted global cryptocurrency exchange as it embarks on its next chapter.
