The sharp selloff reduced Litecoin’s market capitalization to $6.31 billion, accounting for just 0.19% of the total cryptocurrency market. This marks a substantial decline from its historical peak market cap of $25.61 billion.
In the previous 24 hours, Litecoin traded within a narrow band between $82.41 and $86.17. Over the past week, the coin showed little momentum, registering a modest 1.55% movement. Trading volume in the last 24 hours reached $445.29 million, comprising 0.31% of the global crypto market’s total volume. Over the past seven days, Litecoin has fluctuated between $82.41 and $94.17.
Despite intermittent gains in recent years, Litecoin remains 80.38% below its all-time high of $420.00, recorded on December 12, 2017.
Crypto Market Overview
The broader crypto market also faced losses on Friday. Bitcoin slid 4.73% to $103,383.60, while Ethereum dropped 9.52% to $2,511.63, according to the Investing.com Index.
Bitcoin’s market cap stands at $2.07 trillion, representing 63.77% of the overall cryptocurrency market, while Ethereum accounts for 9.44% with a market cap of $305.75 billion.
The downturn underscores ongoing volatility in the crypto sector, as investors respond to shifting market dynamics and broader economic signals.
